Why is 'selling an utter fuckload of their dreadfully terrible records' equitable with 'impact?'

They have had quite a bit of influence. I'm not saying I like their music at all, but they've had some influence.

On whom? I'm not attacking you, I just want to hear how, precisely, and where, and on whom, Motley Crue bore influence.

And no, the rest of the 80's glam scene does not count.

I only think Motley Crue's first album was any good. Then they crapped out on metal and became a bunch of glamed out hacks. Lets face it, they're not good musicians, and they're not good song writers either. All the heaviness and hooks from the first album were slowly stripped away until only utter garbage remained. ANd they continue on their very poor musical streak.

And even so their first record is just average.
