(on topic, I lost all interest in NIN after Downward Spiral, still their finest, imho)

For anyone who gave up after downward spiral, try Year Zero and The Slip. They're both amazing and I think by far his most mature work as an artist. Highly recommended. The Slip is even available for free on his website (or at least it used to be). Year Zero is better though.

ill check those out for sure. i like the dark atmosphere good ol' trent creates. i tend to like my music dark and well...dreary. is NIN still dark on the above mentioned albums?

And the Fragile is better than both(bloated material from a double album excepted of course).

I thought NIN bottomed out on With Teeth alone, everything else I found good or very good.

Yeah still very dark. Year Zero is kind of like a techno-industrial nightmare. Bleak as fuck, in a good way.

@EBD: yeah I like the fragile too, but it's not the best place to start for people who only know the downward spiral.
