| Withered are something inbetween I think, but Gigan are just downright terrible so I disagree with that one. I'd have to say Cosmic Atrophy, Funebrarum, and Skinless at least, and for technical death Sickening Horror. |

Pungent Stench is really fun too.
They used to have stickers of like two of the guys, dressed in suits, holding hands with a little girl and they were walking towards the forest for some reason. I'd like to see people's reactions if you put that on your car. |

Monstrosity is definitely one of them. Atrocity, Unbidden, and Disciples of Power are also very overlooked.
I did a YouTube video recently for most underrated death metal recently. You can view it here:

Hate Eternal.
Go listen to King of All Kings and try to tell me that isn't one of the most stupid awesome brutal death albums you've ever heard. |

But you're right, definitely underrated. Rutan is a beast. _________________ http://www.last.fm/user/traptunderice |

That seems to be a popular opinion but for me personally the only album I found repetitive was Fury and Flames and even then you could argue it was only because of the production. |

Tracks are too short and samey; they always had a good sound though. |

I'm not sure if you're referring to Hate Eternal in general or just Fury and Flames. I could kinda agree if you're talking about just that one album but seriously some of their other work is rather varied and adventurous. Well, as varied and adventurous as you could be when you make some of the most brutal and powerful death metal around I guess. |

| For serious. They write great riffs and albeit low quality production it's just great classic death metal. _________________ http://www.last.fm/user/traptunderice |

| It has been mentioned by Rio, and not probably underrated, but Ulcerate has been the most "ground-breaking Death Metal Band." Most especially with later albums that had superior production. |

| I want to add Obscura to the list. Easily some of the best tech death I've ever heard, especially cosmogenesis. I actually didn't care so much for this band when I first heard them but after giving them another chance it really clicked. |

bear in mind I prefer my death metal on the tech side and haven't read through every post (and these were all bands suggested to me on another forum and some of them are christian tech-death bands so I don't know a great deal about them outside of their music itself)
Sickening Horror, really spazzy tech-death with some weird sounding shit at times
Quo Vadis, perhaps the finest example of tech-death done right I can think of
Centaurus-A, very jazz influenced tech-death, it works really well for them
Element, brutal tech-death which shouldn't work but does, very well
Sympathy, it's a shame these guys don't tour because they have some fucking stellar riffs, just unbelievable
Alethian - yes they are christian, yes their lyrics are very, very christian, and yes the growls can be so incoherent it doesn't matter what the guy is saying, but these guys are a truly outstanding tech-death band _________________ Have you ever been alone at night, thought you heard footsteps behind, turned around and no one's there? |
