Okay, dozens of text-messages with the girl today, I think it is on. I'm seeing her tomorrow. Problem is, she's way younger (22) than I am (30), and I'm not confortable with this. At all, actually.

Ah well.

Dear diary,

Pardon my French but, holy mother of fuck. I didn’t see that one coming.

So, I spent the afternoon and part of the evening with this girl I mentioned earlier. We were to meet in town, in front of this place I know. She was surprised to see me arrive walking with a cane. “Oh, yeah. This. It’s nothing really, let’s go inside have a seat, I’ll explain everything.”

I completely had forgot she didn’t know about my condition. When I met her the other day at my friend’s place, I was already there when she arrived, and I don’t need the cane when I’m in a building, it’s just for walking outside for at least a few minutes. Anyhow.

So I’m starting to tell her about this not-so-important-and-irrelevant-living-hell-I-have-to-deal-with-every-fucking-day, when she stops me. “Wait a minute, you have multiple sclerosis?” she says. “Yup”, I answer. “Know about it? This is the shit, you should try it sometime.” Two seconds of silence, no reaction to my silly joke. Then finally, it came: “I know a great deal about it actually, my mother has been struggling against it for more than 20 years. It’s begun right after my birth.”

Told you, dear, beloved diary: holy mother of fuck. I wasn’t lying.
But I’ve had a blast of a day and we’re seeing each other again tomorrow so, who the fuck cares. Cheers!

Oh my god she is totally in to you. I wouldn't worry about the joke you made. She should understand that insofar as you live through it you know it better than she does who experiences witnessing it. People should recognize that joking about thing is a way to ease into dealing with them.

So, honestly, guy, when you mentioned this lady I was wondering if you had let her know. I just had a friend who had prosthetic legs and reactions that people had about that were so extreme at times. I know it's not exactly the same but do you ever get drastic reactions in dating because of it? Basically, the question is do you meet people not worth dating?

I meet people who are not worth dating all the time!! Just my luck with girls. My luck is just fine for other things, but when it comes to girls I just have the worse of lucks. It's never-ending.

I'm at a tricky moment. I met an English grad student last night. And I bought her a drink in a non-flirtatious way, like she didn't have cash and rather than her walking to the ATM I butted in and offered to buy the drink since she was with people I knew. I ended up sitting next to her later in the night and I was drunk enough that oddly I was putting my leg up under hers (I don't know I was drunk). We didn't talk much but me and my best friend were making the whole table laugh. Now today she facebook friend requested me and I asked her out for a drink after finals week. But I'm not sure it's a "date" date because I don't if she's single. She has photos from two years ago with some dude on facebook but none recently and her relationship status is single. I'm overthinking. But it's easier to overthink that then to think through my final papers.
