I just purchased a Vinyl player. I was wondering if a standard Vinyl player, plays all forms of Vinyl? This will appear a very stupid question, but I just don't know, so an answer would be appreciated. Cheers.

If it has the option for 33 or 45 RPM, then it should. If it doesn't have a 45 RPM option, it'll have problems with those. (EDIT: I see the thingy in the picture now.) That's the only reason I can think of it wouldn't be able to play everything.

It does have 45 RPM. EDIT: It says so on the vinyl player on the left hand side.

It's a loaded question.

Vinyl has extreme shifts in tonality, frequency response and fideility depending on the vinyl itself. Some stuff was mastered awfully and some stuff was mastered for completely different sounding players of different eras, outputs, materials and other factors of the sort.

To answer the question, speed is all that matters. Analog will play anything but don't expect anything to work as well or as in sympatico as digital does. In other words, it may sound superficially okay, but there may be major major issues regarding playback.

I'm not a fan of vinyl. I tried it and found it to be sorely lacking and provided no effect or tonality that could not be done better with digital.

I believe what you talk about in terms of tone is a subject that an LP can perform much better. Texture, dynamics, depth, warmth, and altogether a more "authentic" feel one gets from vinyl is worlds apart from CD and the digital age compared to the much beloved analog. I only started buying vinyls. I don't intend to buy them like I do with CD's, either. First, they're expensive, and second, I'll only purchase the one's that hold a very, very special place in my heart (which are few).
