Well as part of a pscyh assessment I had an IQ test and socred 82. Wow. That means I'm in the top 18% of smartest people.

It'd also explains why I suffer from delusional disorder and bipolar - after all intelligent people suffer from craziness a lot.

The IQ test is nothing but a test to determine how you rank against your pees to determine the rate at which your mental processes learn, with 100 being the target rate of the age you happen to be. To the best of my knowledge, which should be included in your textbook as it is in mine, that the results are entirely innaccurate and outside the scope of the test past a certain age. The last time I took one that was accurate was when I was 17 and scored a 145, was never on meds and knew far less about anything. I have impeccable logic skills frankly which were immediately pointed out to me in college.

That would make me mentally about 38-39 mentally, but I would guess with the subject matter I deal with now, that that would be a young 39 year old in terms of their education. I take education meaning personal growth built on experience, academic or otherwise.

I wouldn't worry about an IQ score anyway. a score that makes you more like 20 than 25 would only hurt you if academically you couldn't keep up. It is common what interests someone biases the test against them. Like the old farmer who sounds like an idiot discussing engineering actually doing NASA-level work and logical processes eliminating problems and to fix shit in his barn using materials that no one else would be able to manage anything from. I'm into math, logic and psychology so I should be able to detect whatever typical IQ test questions, even when I was 17 I could tell the question is leading me to use some process that seems less than obvious but is easily figured out because I know I have learned it before, even the stuff I had never seen feels more like rediscover these days or acceptance of the facts rather than creating a new thought process. Maybe that is what it gauges as well, how fast you start putting patterns together that tend to show the usage of such mental tools.

Trust me, I'm being awfully humble

I was a pretentious know it all asshole when I was 16-22 but probably only because of what would follow later and you are probably right though, I may be overstating my current [insert subject here] because I sort of see things coming a mile away from watching myself intentionally set up obstacles to learn lessons and move on. Really I'm agreeing with you but knowing exactly what will follow and watching it unfold these years in hindsight and realizing something crutial about my personality that makes nothing impossible but everything more difficult that it should be at great reward is starting to make things predictable, so the arogance gets you because you are coasting off achievements that are obvious to yourself that haven't been demonstrated. Sooner this makes sense to everyone at some point. Have fun out there.

I wouldn't worry too much about that however. Never took one of these tests, and for a reason. They fail to measure many important kinds of intelligence: emotional intelligence, spatial intelligence, clairvoyance, and so on.

@ Adveser: I like you man, don't ever change anything. BUT, I hope for your sake that IRL you pay extra attention to what you tell people about yourself. You could easily end up beaten up or killed by a guy who'd have a, say, 82 IQ score, and would have the unfortunate idea of finding you irritating. (Double
