Yeah, it's pretty good. Quite partial to Sweetie&Shag, these days.

Unfortunately the first half of 2011 has been pretty weak, but the year is not over yet and has still produced a few great records like these:
Aosoth - III
Colosseum - Chapter III: Parasomnia
Vomitory - Opus Mortis VIII
Necros Christos - Doom of the Occult
Primordial - Redemption at the Puritan's Hand
Oremus - Popioły

And these which are some kind of disappointments, but still not complete catastrophes though:
Septicflesh - The Great Mass
Týr - The Lay of Thrym
Amon Amarth - Surtur Rising

Why Septicflesh's mass disappointed you? It's in my top 5 of 2011. I need to hear the new Necros Christos, and Oremus, never heard of.

It's been a very, very slow year for metal.

Only album I've truly liked this year was Cavalera Conspiracy - Blunt Force Trauma.

I'm not really a stickler for genre tagging, but Born of Osiris is not really metalcore by any stretch of the imagination. However, Discovery is a great record

That's probably why I like it then.

MIDNIGHT's 'Satanic Royalty' is killer. Their first album after 10 years of just Demos and EPs. So far this is my favorite for 2011.
