Not sure how I feel about this. I am glad Schafer went and found someone capable of a lower register, which IMO is what Owen's lacked in his stint with Iced Earth

Owens didnt lacked anything, Iced Earth has always been Schaffer, the reason why their latest albums sucked is because of Jon's crappy writting, their best album wasnt even with Barlow anyway, and The Crucible of Man is by far their worst, Glorious Burden was way better, fuck even Framming Armagedon was better.

QFT? Not familiar with it.

And I agree that Schaffer was at a low point in song writing during this period, so Owen's cause certainly wasn't helped. But I still do not think Owen's was a good fit for those albums either way, not when replacing Barlow as a vocalist. Put too much of a Judas Priest feel to the albums. Also, for whatever reason the production on those albums (especially Glorious Burden) was weak. There are really no memorable tracks from that period except the Gettysburg Trilogy and maybe The Clouding. Agreed that Crucible was the worst of them.

Also, IMO their best album was Burnt Offering with Barlow, which album are you refering to?

I agree with everything you said. Owens' performance is probably the highlight of the albums he was on and that's coming from me, a huge Barlow fan.

No matter what singer, Iced Earth won't become great until Schaffer starts playing to his strengths again.

Agreed NOTS was their best. Heavy with the right amount of intensity in the vocals.

SWTWC would be their second best.

And Solar QFT stands for Quoted For Truth meaning you agree with the quoted post.
