I have and fairly like S.C.I.E.N.C.E, and once had Morning View but sold it due to my then rigid tastes. Now that I'm mellowing with age, is it worth checking their mid-to-later stuff out again? I've heard they brought a bit of prog back on their most recent two albumz, is this true? And are Fungus Amungous and Enjoy Incubus as good as S.C.I.E.N.C.E?

Thanks in advance, Stefan.

How did you I would be the one replying?

Ok, Incubus IS a great band, none of their albums disappointed me so far so everyone of them is, to the least, worth checking... I have to admit I have a soft spot for Morning View... Sure, it's quite commercial but the songs are damn good! Also, you'd be well advised to check the epic track in 4 parts they recorded for Halo 2's Soundtrack, it's awesome!

Hahah, I was expecting either you or Ken, and since Ken's not around much lately for some reason...

I'll give them a try, thanks.

Don't smile, Zad, you'll never be rid of me!

S.C.I.E.N.C.E. is a bit of an anomaly in their catalog. It's their heaviest album by far and has more in common with early 311 than anything else. Their first two albums are a bit more funky, like early RHCP, while the latter, as you know, are more laid back.

I do like everything they've done, but I think their last great album was Make Yourself. It mixed the mellow with the heavy groove of S.C.I.E.N.C.E. It also didn't forego the hook, which I think they've somewhat abandoned since then.

Now a good band, once a great band.

Check this out.

They were once one of my favorite bands, but as I got more into my niche they got more irrelevant.

The band was over as far as I was concerned when Alex Katunich was fired for being "too negative."

He was the driving force behind a lot of their older material and I know he was upset about the way "morning view" was done. That album was simply weak and I couldn't get into anything afterwards. There were maybe three or four on that, that I liked and only "Blood on the ground" sounded like the band I loved from before.

Fungus Amongus is a good album despite my harsh score for it. Enjoy Incubus contains only two songs that aren't on that album but they are very good and would fit well on SCIENCE.

After a bit of research, it turns out that the other one I had was Make Yourself, not Morning View. Will retry.
