| Heard clips from their new album and they have indeed returned to their classic sound. It sounds like a combo of Tooth And Nail and Under Lock And Key good to hear a band from the old school going back to their roots. |

Sounds good. However I saw a review that burned the album down to the ground. Guess I will have to hear for myself.
If you are right it should be a great album, the latest releases were ok but nothing great. |

No way is this one a return to anything. It is the closest they've come since Dysfunctional and it is good, however. Too bad Don's voice is pretty bad now.
They should fire Don, get Pilson and Lynch back in the band, and let Pilson sing.
PLAYING GOD AGAIN
WALK AWAY (Dokken cover)
Those are from Pilson's War And Peace project. As you can hear, Pilson played a huge role in the Dokken sound. He could almost be confused with Don Dokken. |

Based on the clips I've heard so far I also feel they have returned to a sound that is more along the lines of their first four albums. However, I also agree that Don's vocals are a bit rough; they just seem more strained. I also agree that Pilson is just as good a singer and can almost match Don note for note. |

I finally heard the new Dokken, being a huge fan of them through the years, I was excited to see if they took the sound back to the old days. I think is safe to say they did, the album is pretty damm solid, the guitar licks are all there , the hooks also. Don sounds pretty good although of course you can hear some decay in his voice, is natural after all these years. Even though im bias to George Lynch as he is one of my fav guitar players ever, Levin does a nice job without trying to sound too much like him, kick ass album, Dokken is back |
