| I have a confession to make: I'm a total poser. I have only heard a few songs by these guys, and I'll see them live with Masterplan next week. Which of their albums should I start with? Are they good live? |

| Saxon are great live. And for albums, i'm not going to give my opinion since i have only heard a few. Radagast will probably know with which one you should start. |

Saxon is a great live band!!
Start with Wheels of Steel and Strong arm of the Law, these albums are available in a 2cd package. Killing Ground, Unleash the Beast, Lionheart are also very strong albums. |

Quoted for truth. Get these two as a matter of urgency.
Thir first, self-titled album is also very cool, but a bit of an oddball, 70s rock-blending into NWOBHM release. Its worth a few £££ just for the track Frozen Rainbow though.
If you like Wheels... and Strong Arm... your next stop would be the two following albums, Denim & Leather and The Power and the Glory - then skip over just about everything until you land on 1997's Unleash the Beast - that album and everything since have been rock-solid power metal.
Even if you don't get any of the albums, I guarantee you s good show - Saxon are at least 127 times better live than on record. |

I dont think he should skip everything until Unleash The Beast, Innocence Is No Excuse its a killer album!, but +1 on everything else. |
