I think i read it in a magazine. Which i cant find right now. It may not have been Iraq, but it was a middle eastern country. Apparently they claim its where his views on life began to surface.

Very few of his other pictures show that scar. He might be hiding it.

I think he might have gotten that while doing wooden sword fights in the woods with his friends. He says that injuries happened there.

I understood it was a generally joke. But, as Jotun said, Devendra's stuff can't be labeled "bad" (Rejoicing in the Hands is quite interesting).
